On the morning of March 10, 2023, the online course “Why Teach Kids About Money Early,” delivered by lecturer Doan Bich Ngoc – CEO of JA Vietnam, was successfully conducted for all Hanoi Telecom employees, providing valuable knowledge.
Teaching children about money early is an intelligent educational approach that parents should implement to help children understand the value of money, develop savings consciousness, and avoid wasteful spending in the future.
When it comes to teaching children about financial management, many parents think that young children don’t understand much, so it’s not necessary to focus on education. Therefore, this course helped Hanoi Telecom’s parents elevate their understanding and adopt an early approach to financial education, guiding children to understand their roles, the value of money, and most importantly, how to manage finances from an early stage of using money for spending.
In addition, parents also gained insight into 7 principles for establishing a useful method of teaching children about money:
- Maintain a democratic regime and respect for children
- Help children understand the law of cause and effect correctly
- Use effective rewards and punishments
- Ensure fairness among children
- Understand your child
- Family unity and consensus
- Lead by example for children
Teaching children financial management is never too early. Even if you’re not an expert, parents can provide a basic financial foundation for their children. Therefore, the valuable knowledge shared by the expert today will provide a strong financial starting point for children’s future.
